Melia Las Dunas Review
We have just come back from our holidays to Cuba and I felt compelled to give my review about Melia Las Dunas Cayo Santa Maria. My Husband and I spent a week from the 1st Jan 2009.
This was our first stay in an all-included type of hotel and we have travelled a lot in the past 5 years.
Melia Las Dunas is definitely good value for money. The rooms, the pools, the gardens, the lobby are all very pretty and clean, this is a fairly new hotel so everything looks very tidy.
Let me start by saying that you do not go to Cuba for the food. The buffet offers a good assortment of fruits, salads, pastas, pizzas and fish. The best thing is to book yourself in any of the a la carte restaurants. That is the good treat. Although the hotel only allows you to book 3 nights in a week depending on the period they are very flexible with this. The food was above our expectations. We went there expecting nothing even decent enough. I am glad to say we were wrong.
Bear in mind that this hotel is huge and you could spend about 1 hour walking every day within the installations of the hotels which is good if you want to burn few calories.
